Shopping for wedding dresses online can be a new experience for some brides so as expected, there may be a few reservations and questions about the process of buying a wedding dress online. Buying your wedding dress online doesn’t have to be a complicated, confusing or unsavoury experience.  

Here at Envious Fashions we strive to help brides find their dream wedding gown online. Through our blog we share bridal and wedding advice that we hope brides to be will find helpful and make shopping for their wedding dress a wonderfully memorable and pleasant experience. Below are common questions that brides have that we provide answers to.

Q: How long before my wedding day should I start looking for a wedding dress?

A: There is no set or specific time as to when you should start looking as it all depends on the bride and her individual circumstance. For example, if the bride has a very specific style in mind and she can’t find what she wants at any bridal store, then perhaps she may need to consider getting a custom made bridal gown. Then she’d need find a bridal boutique that would accept and be capable of making this custom made wedding dress. Depending on the style, intricacy and materials of the wedding gown, there is the time that the bridal store would need to go source the materials, sketch up and then put the dress in production.  

Generally speaking, 12-18 months ahead of the big day should allow adequate time to browse and shop for your wedding dress.

If there is quite a bit of time before your wedding (say, 18 months or more), there is no harm in browsing around for your dress but we wouldn’t recommend buying it at this stage. The reason being that buying your wedding dress too far in advance may lead to a few problems such as significant changes in body weight and shape and change of mind. You’re then left with a wedding dress that you may not have any use for or just can’t wear.

Also, we have had a few brides that have expressed how overwhelmed they were with the wedding dress search as there were so many choices they could choose from and just didn’t know where to start or look. The best advice we can offer here is the process of elimination to narrow down the possible options thus, less confusion and feeling overwhelmed. Q: Are you an online store only or do you have a shop?

A: Envious Fashions is an online boutique but we also have a shopfront in North Perth. For our wedding dresses, we only offer them as pre-orders. This means we do not carry the wedding dress stock on hand but rather, we list all the styles on our website and order in the style as per customer order basis.

Q: How do I place an order?

A: Browse all our wedding dresses style here. If you find a style you like, select your desired size and then add the product to cart. You will then be prompted to check out and can make secure payment online via the available methods of bank deposit or PayPal.  If you wish, you can also call us and place your order directly and we will take your order over the phone.

Q: How long does it take for my wedding dress to arrive?

A: For Australian customers, you can expect your wedding gown to arrive between 7-10 business days (excluding weekends) delivered to your doorstep. Your delivery will include a tracking number and will also require a signature on delivery. We also offer express shipping service which delivery will be within 3 business days.

If you are a customer outside of Australia, delivery will typically arrive between 10-20 business days via regular (tracked) airmail. We also offer express shipping service for expedited delivery and also registered post for peace of mind.

Q: How much is shipping cost?

A: We offer free shipping (regular tracked postal service) for Australian customers when you purchase our wedding dresses. For international customers, shipping cost is based on your country. You can easily find out what the cost of shipping is to your country by selecting the dress you want, adding to cart and completing the shipping quote.

Q: Do you have plus size wedding dresses?

A: Yes we do! All our bridal dresses and gowns are available in plus sizes (sizes 16-22).

Q: Can I return the wedding dress if it doesn’t fit?

A: Unfortunately no. As we work off the pre-order system with our wedding dresses, we only order in the wedding gown as per the customer’s order basis so can’t accept returns for change of mind or sizing errors. Our wedding dresses are made to standard US/AU sizing so if you would like the exact measurements please get in touch with us and we will be happy to provide you with the sizing details of the wedding dresses.
